Maja Wladimirowna Kristalinskaja ( Russian Майя Владимировна Кристалинская ; * February 24, 1932 in Moscow ; † June 19, 1985 there ) was a Soviet pop singer.

She was born in Moscow in 1932 as the daughter of a Russian Jewish family. After graduating from high school in 1950, she enrolled at the Moscow Aviation Institute and participated in amateur performances.

In 1957 she won the international school and student festival.

In 1960 she recorded a song for the film "Durst" and a short time later became known throughout the Soviet Union.

Maja Kristalinskaja was the first interpreter of the legendary song Neschnost (tenderness) in 1966, which was covered by many stars. In the same year, she was voted the best singer of the year by Soviet television viewers. In 1974 she was named an Honored Artist of the RSFSR .

Maja Kristalinskaja loved the cinema, her favorite actress was Marlene Dietrich . Their book Take only my life ...: She translated Reflections into Russian, the book was only published after Kristalinskaja's death.

In 1985 she died of a serious illness in Moscow and was buried there.
