15-year-old Rebecca "Becky" Richards is amazed when she is suddenly put up as a candidate for mayor in her hometown of Mayfield and wins the election. Now Becky rules the city, without any experience, but with a lot of passion. Her friends Margo Dubois and Kiki Kincaid are by her side and always there for her. Other friends also act as advisors and camera crews. But then there is Jack, the son of the former mayor, with whom Becky is in love. The conflicts are preprogrammed. Becky grows with her tasks and with her infectious laugh and her passionate way she succeeds in mastering her challenges in order to make her city bloom.
