Handball

The men's handball team at Majornas IK was one of Sweden's dominant teams in the 1940s. After they had reached the runner-up behind Redbergslids IK in the opening season of the Allsvenskan in 1935 , they achieved their first national championship title in 1938. Between 1940 and 1944 she won five times in a row. After another runner-up behind IFK Karlskrona in 1945, the team slipped in the following years and occupied the last non-relegation place in 1948. After a few midfield positions, she played again in the mid-1950s against relegation, which had to be accepted in 1957. After the direct resurgence, the team stayed in the first division until 1964.

Soccer

The soccer team of Majornas IK first drew national attention in 1932 when they were promoted to the second-rate division 2 Västra . There the team missed relegation after three wins of the season and had to relegate together with Degerfors IF . Two years later she stayed in the third division without a win of the season and went to fourth division until 1938. In the following years, the team established itself at the third league level and played in the early 1940s to return to the second division. In 1947, the club fell victim to a league reform in which the number of third division seasons was reduced, and again had to say goodbye to higher-class football.

The following decades spent the Majornas IK football team in the lower league area, in the 1960s they played sporadically in the fourth division without being able to establish themselves in the long term. In 2000, the club managed to get promoted back to the fifth division 4 Gothenburg A , from which he had to relegate after two years. In 2006, the football section disbanded due to a lack of players.
