Macrozoobenthos
The totality of the organisms living in the benthal ("body of water") is called benthos . Under Macrozoobenthos the animal organisms are in this case up to a defined size (with the eye combined still visible).

- Sponges
- Coelenterates
- Crayfish ,
- Mussels ,
- Snails ,
- Vortex worms ,
- Leeches and
- Insect larvae
They are essential indicator types for water habitats and are used to assess water quality.
