Mal'ackah
The Mal'ackah , also called Maragha , was an Egyptian measure of length and distance, which determined the length of the route by specifying the time. The measure was different in Upper and Lower Egypt.
- generally 1 Mal'ackah = 16 Dereghe = 64 minutes of walking = 1 to 1 ½ hours of travel = 64 Feddan = 4928 meters
- Lower Egypt 1 Mal'ackah = 1 hour journey = 2 ½ to 3 miles (engl.)
- Upper Egypt 1 Mal'ackah = 1 ½ hour journey = 3 ¾ to 4 ½ miles (engl.)
