Malado Kaba (* 1971 ) is a Guinean economist and politician . She was Guinea's Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance from January 2016 to May 2018.

Life

Kaba grew up in France . She graduated from the University of Paris-Nanterre with a degree in development economics in 1994 . From 1996 to 1999 she worked in the Guinean Ministry of Economics and Finance, where she carried out macroeconomic analyzes. From 1999 she worked for about 15 years as a consultant for the European Commission , where she was responsible for development aid in Africa and the Caribbean. Her focus was on macroeconomics. From 2004 she was deployed to Jamaica for two years, and in 2009 she started working in South Africa .

In June 2014 she became Country Head of Tony Blair's Africa Governance Initiative (AGI) in Guinea. In January 2016 she was finally appointed Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance for the country. This made Kaba the first woman to get this post. She left the government on May 29, 2018. When she resigned as minister, she became an advisor to the African Union's African Women Leadership Fund . On August 28, 2019, she became President of the Council for the Regulation of Public Electricity and Water Supply.
