Painter from London E777
The painter from London E 777 (active around 475 - 425 BC in Athens ) was a Greek vase painter of the red-figure style. It got its emergency name after the Pyxis E 777 in the British Museum in London . Based on this work, numerous other works are ascribed to him today - but not without controversy. Many works from his area are considered works by the painter von Heidelberg 211 , who was probably an employee or student of his. The painter of Faina 103 may also have belonged to his immediate circle .
From the abundance of available material it is concluded that he mainly specialized in painting bowls, since otherwise only a few other vessel shapes have survived.
