history

The beginning of the Malteser Waldkrankenhaus St. Marien goes back to 1945, when six Franciscan Sisters from a hospital near Ansbach took over the Marienhospital on Spardorfer Straße. Over the years the Marienhospital became too small and a new hospital was built on the outskirts - the St. Marien Forest Hospital.

1959 opened a clinic with 200 beds under the direction of Sister Gamelberta Dießner.
