Mama Ocllo (in Peruvian Quechua spelling Mama Uqllu ) is a fertile deity and mother in Inca mythology . In one legend, the Inca she is the daughter of the sun god Inti and his wife Mama Killa , and sister of the first Inca ruler Manco Capac .

Her brother Manco Cápac is said to have been sent to earth by Inti with her to make the world a better place. Inti gave them a golden stick (tupayawri) to sink into the ground in a fertile place where they could found a city. They are said to have reached the earth on the sunny island in Lake Titicaca and after some search the stick sank into the ground, whereupon they founded the city of Qusqu ( Cusco ) and thus the Inca Empire.
