Manabu Ikeda ( Japanese 池田 学 , Ikeda Manabu ; born July 3, 1980 in Osaka Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Ikeda learned to play soccer on the school team at Shimizu Commercial High School . He signed his first contract with the Urawa Reds in 1999 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . At the end of the 1999 season, the club was relegated to the J2 League . In 2000 he was runner-up in the J2 League with the club and was promoted to the J1 League. For the club he completed 30 games. In 2003 he moved to the second division club Shonan Bellmare . For the club he completed 14 games. At the end of 2004 he ended his career as a soccer player.
