Manabu Kitabeppu ( Japanese 北 別 府 学 Kitabeppu Manabu ; born July 12, 1957 in Sueyoshi , Soo-gun (today: Soo ), Kagoshima Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese baseball player .

Because of his precise throws he was referred to as Seimutsu Kikai ( 精密 機械 , English "precision machine").

In 1975 he was selected in the first round of the draft by the Hiroshima Tōyō Carp . He played for the Carp throughout his professional career from 1976 to 1994. During his active time, five of Hiroshima's six Nippon Series participations and all three championship titles fell. Kitabeppu threw a total of 515 games, 460 of them as starters, and scored 213 wins out of 141 losses. Twice, in 1982 and 1986, he was awarded the Sawamura Prize for the best pitcher in Japanese professional baseball.

From 2001 to 2004 he worked as a pitching coach for the team.
