Manana Doijashvili

Manana Doijashvili ( Georgian მანანა დოიჯაშვილი ; * 1947 ) is a Georgian pianist and professor of piano.

She was trained by Tengiz Amiredjibi at the Tbilisi Conservatory and won the George Enescu Competition in Bucharest in 1970 and the Smetana Competition in Pilsen in 1974 . At the first edition of the Sydney competition she was awarded the sixth prize.

Doijashvili was the rector of the Tbilisi Conservatory from 2000 to 2012 and the founder of the Tbilisi International Piano Competition. She was awarded the Order of the Star of Italy in Georgia as an Artist of the People and in Italy . In 2003 she received the Sakharia Paliashvili Prize and in 2004 the Prize of the Russian State Fund for the Performing Arts.

Doijashvili has served on the jury of numerous piano competitions, including the Aram Khachaturyan Competition , Rhodes Competition , Sydney Competition, Busoni Competition, and Horowitz Competition .
