Manfred Beike

Manfred Beike is a German naval and military historian.

Manfred Beike received his doctorate in 1987 with the thesis The Marxist-Leninist Military Science on the principles of the art of war. The application and development of principles of the art of war by the commanders of the ancient Greco-Roman war fleet and the resulting significance for the present at the military academy "Friedrich Engels" of the NVA in Dresden . In a revised form, the book was published as Naval Wars in Antiquity , it was widely distributed and a second edition was published in 1990. In 1990 Beike returned to the Military Academy in Dresden, where he taught as a lecturer, his dissertation B on the topic of the history of naval warfare up to the end of the Second World War and the development tendencies that took place in it . Even after the political change, Beike continued to publish on these topics.
