Berger learned the trade of locksmith and electric welder. At the “Festival of the Unknowns” in Hanover, he won the “Silver Bonny”. He then received a record deal from Decca . "Dream today and kiss me tomorrow" (B-side: "For a love affair") was the first success that not only made it into the charts, but also on the sampler "Hit 67 - The great star and hit song" Parade". With “Morgen already” (B-side: “Say not goodbey”) the second single was released. Subsequently, there was no great success and Berger withdrew into private life.
