Manfred Dimter (born August 18, 1964 ) is an Austrian boxing trainer and former amateur boxer. With 14 national championship titles he is the Austrian record holder in boxing.

Boxing career

He was born in 1964 as the son of a Czech and a Carinthian woman. As an amateur boxer, he played 317 fights, including 273 wins, 25 draws and 19 losses.

He was Austrian featherweight champion twelve times in 1984 and 1985, and from 1988 to 1997. In 1986 and 1987 he was unable to take part in the championships due to a torn ligament in his ankle and a broken thumb. In 1998 and 1999 he was Austrian lightweight champion. With 14 national championship titles in the general class ( adults ; today: elite class ), he is the Austrian record holder in boxing. Jürgen König follows in second place with eleven titles.

He boxed in Germany, Finland, Italy, France, England, Norway, Denmark and the Czech Republic and was able to win several international tournaments, including the Dolomites Cup six times . However, he was unable to make a breakthrough at major international events. So he was defeated at the 30th European Championships in 1993 in Bursa in the round of 16 against Dirk Krüger from Germany and at the 7th World Championships in 1993 in Tampere in the second preliminary round against Artur Mikaelian from Armenia.

After his competitive career, he became a state-certified apprentice and boxing trainer at the Unterberger boxing club in Wörgl , which he later became head of.
