Manfred Hoessl

Manfred Hößl (born February 18, 1955 in Bayreuth ) is a German church musician and publisher of music editions.

Hößl studied church music at the Academy for Protestant Church Music in Bayreuth, where he passed the C-exam . He continued his education at the college for catholic. Church music in Regensburg and graduated with the B-exam.

He worked as an organ teacher in the Diocese of Passau and as a church musician in Burghausen . Since 1988 he has been a church musician in Neumarkt-Sankt Veit . Hößl regularly gives concerts on the organ.

In addition to his work as a church musician, he is also the editor of choral and orchestral music. His specialty is the southern German church music of the 19th century. But also a lot of instrumental music is edited by him. The baroque is also increasingly represented.

Since 2008 he has been creating a large part of the sheet music for the Simon Mayr Choir and Franz Hauck. Previously unpublished works, especially by Mayr and Donizetti, are performed here in concert and published by Naxos on CD.

He offers his sheet music free of charge as final files over the Internet and is therefore an important representative of the free sheet music movement .
