Manfred Klinkebiel

Manfred Klinkebiel (* 1954 in Oldenburg ), also known under the stage name "Jopapa", is a German musician, composer, painter, writer and choir director.

Life

Manfred Klinkebiel was born in Oldenburg and grew up there in marginal social conditions. At the age of ten he received his first piano and organ lessons. After graduating from high school, he studied church music at the University of Applied Sciences for Church Music in Herford / Westphalia, followed by two postgraduate courses in Stuttgart (composition with Helmut Lachenmann ) and in Trossingen (choral conducting with Manfred Schreier). Since 1990 he has directed the college choir of the Carl-von-Ossietzky-Universität Oldenburg and since 2007 the Vocalforum Oldenburg he founded.

Manfred Klinkebiel's oeuvre includes over 150 paintings, a “literary series” in eleven volumes and compositions for different occupations. In all creative areas, an artistic design concept is used, which is derived from the observation of children's design and development processes. This design concept includes an original understanding of art that Klinkebiel has expanded and expanded into what is known as his “Concrete Philosophy”. He describes this philosophy in his writings as well as in public appearances, readings and workshops.
