Otto Ditscher Art Prize

The Otto Ditscher Prize for Book Illustration , or Otto Ditscher Prize for short , is a German art competition prize . It has been awarded every two years by the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis since 1978 and is named after the painter Otto Ditscher . The main prize is currently (2013) endowed with € 7,500. The advancement award for artists under 40 years of age with 1500 €.

In the first few years, the Otto Ditscher Prize was awarded alternately for painting, graphics and small-scale sculpture. Today, alternating with awards for musical compositions for young ensembles, it is one of the few German art awards for book illustration.
