Manfred Müller (puppeteer)

Manfred Müller (born November 10, 1950 ; † April 27, 2019 ) was an Austrian screenwriter, puppeteer and director of the Urania puppet theater in Vienna from 1995 until his death .

Life

Manfred Müller was born in 1950 and trained as a graphic designer. Since 1973 he has been a member of the Kasperl und Pezi - Vienna Urania Puppet Theater. After the death of Hans Kraus he took over the management of the puppet theater together with his wife Marianne Kraus from 1995 . After her death he was the sole director of the theater from 1999. In addition, he wrote plays and scripts for the stage and Punch and Judy productions for the Austrian broadcasting company . He also made the sets and figures and gave Kasperl his voice in the performances. On April 27, 2019, he died of a heart attack, a few days before the puppet was handed over to André Heller .
