Manfred Rürup

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Manfred Rürup (* 1951 Germany ) is a fusion or herb rock musician who has made a name for himself with bands such as “ Tomorrow's Gift ” (1970–1972) and “ Release Music Orchestra ” (1974–1979).

Bands

He played the keyboards and organs and preferred the Fender piano, among other things. Around 1972/1973 he played in Carsten Bohn's band “Dennis” and can be heard on their album “Hyperthalamus” (1973). He also played on Carsten Bohn's Bandstand albums (1977–1979) and in Carsten Bohn's radio play sessions from 1979 to 1980 for the Europe - radio play label.

He was one of the founding members of the bands "Tomorrow's Gift" and "Release Music Orchestra" and later also acted as head of the band for the latter. As a solo artist, he also only appeared "unofficially".

Pieces in Europe

In 1978 he played some radio play jingles and short melodies for the Miller International label Europe with members of the "Release Music Orchestra" and " Carsten Bohns Bandstand" . Europe used his music from 1978 to 1982 under the collective pseudonym " Bert Brac ". Some of his songs are still used today. (e.g. 5 friends, episodes 1–8; The three ??? , episode 1, etc.) Since these are more interludes than entire songs, the songs in radio play music do not have any titles. Fans of the radio play series cut the pieces of music from the radio plays and gave them their own titles, which mostly refer to an event in the radio play in which they were used, e.g. B. "On a bike ride". “Manfred Rürup” is given as the interpreter and composer.

Since the title and composer were never mentioned in the inlays of the radio plays (from 1968 to 1982 Europe used the collective pseudonym Bert Brac for all musicians who wrote pieces of music for Europe’s radio plays during this time), who was unknown for a long time was responsible for the 1978 pieces. Through research and with the help of the Internet, fans interested in radio plays were able to find Manfred Rürup as a composer. The fan titles are still used today in the unofficial recordings of his songs.

No other projects are known. Today he creates his music digitally and is the owner / co-owner of the company digitalmusician.net. and Steinberg Research. Together with Karl Steinberg , he developed a free audio recorder that allows polyphonic music to be recorded in real time via an Internet connection.
