Manipura ( Sanskrit : मणिपूर, IAST: Maṇipūra, German: "Jewel Lake") is the third main chakra according to Vedic tradition . It is located above the navel and slightly below the solar plexus . "Mani" means precious stone, jewel, "Pura" (with a long "ū") lake or tide. With a short "u", Pura would also be a city, which is why it is sometimes referred to as the "city of precious stones".

The Manipurachakra is associated with the center of life energy. According to tradition, the Manipura Chakra acts like a magnet that attracts Prana from the cosmos. As the seat of the digestive fire, the Manipura Chakra regulates the function of the digestive organs.

The Manipurachakra is symbolized as a downward-pointing red triangle in a yellow circle with 10 leaves.
