Joseph Robers

Joseph Robers (born February 12, 1944 in Südlohn ; † August 31, 2011 in Münster ) was a German artist best known for his cityscapes.

Life

From 1973 to 1974 he studied at the Münster University of Applied Sciences in the field of design with Marijan Vojska and Emil Bert Hartwig . In 1977 he graduated as a designer.

Since then he has lived as a freelance artist in Münster . Robers presented his pictures in numerous exhibitions in Münster, The Hague, Kassel, Essen, Dortmund, Hanover, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Monte Carlo and Luxembourg.

Works by Robers can be found in the work and reception rooms of over 50 embassies and consulates general of the Federal Republic of Germany, including in Sydney, Baghdad, Paris, Shanghai, San Salvador and Riga.

Although he also worked with acrylic on canvas , his etchings take up the greater part of his work. Robers mainly focused on the depiction of time-honored buildings in German cities, which were published in limited editions with elaborate embossing.
