Manius Acilius Glabrio (Consul 91)
Manius Acilius Glabrio († 95 ) was a Roman politician and senator from the gens Acilia . He was the son of the former consul Acilius Glabrio . In 91 he was consul alongside the later Emperor Trajan . In the year of his consulate, according to reports from Suetonius ( Domitian 10.2), he fought as a gladiator in the arena of Albano on the orders of the emperor . Juvenal (Sat. IV, 99-101) speaks of an unarmed fight against a bear, Cassius Dio (Hist. Rom., LXVI, III). of a fight with a lion. In 95 Emperor Domitian had him executed, apparently he is said to have had relationships with Christians from the Flavian family .
His son was the future consul (124) Manius Acilius Glabrio .
