The list of the team cadres of the 1st division (chess) 1996/97 contains all players who were used at least once in the Danish 1st division in chess 1996/97 .
With the Espergærde Skakklub, the Brønshøj Skakforening and the Nordre SK, three clubs used the same 8 players in all competitions. The Århus Skakklub had most of the players play at least one competition, namely 11. A total of 72 players were used, of which 53 took part in all competitions.
The best individual result was achieved by Finn Pedersen (Skolernes SK) with 6 points from 7 games, Lars Schandorff (SK Sydøstfyn), Bjarke Kristensen and Tobias Christensen (both Espergærde Skakklub) achieved half a point less . With Henning Nielsen (SK 1934 Nykøbing), Casper Rasmussen (Skolernes SK) and Thomas Jepsen (SK Sydøstfyn) three players achieved 100%, but they were only used once.
The season's oldest players were Henning Nielsen (SK 1934 Nykøbing) and Karl Pedersen (Nordre SK), born in 1940, and the youngest players, Rasmus Skytte (Århus Skakklub) and Simon Bekker-Jensen (Brønshøj Skakforening), born in 1980 .
