Marie-Anne-Armande Carton (* 1684 , † 1745 ), known as Manon Dancourt , was a French actress.

biography

As the daughter of Thérèse Dancourt and Dancourt , she played a child role as early as 1695, the Espagnolette in the play La Foire de Bezons , which was written by her father. She received her first real role at Comédie-Française in 1699. Only known is her role of Andria in Michel Baron's L'Andrienne in 1703, which made her stage costume, the Contouche , widely known. During this time she married the former naval controller Jean-Louis-Guillaume de Fontaine (1666–1714).

Manon Dancourt had three daughters. Louise Marie Madeleine Fontaine was born in 1706 and Marie-Anne-Louise Fontaine was born in 1710 . The third daughter, Françoise-Thérèse Guillaume de Fontaine, was born in 1712. However, paternity is not ascribed to her husband, but to the banker Samuel Bernard .
