Manuel Fernández , full name Manuel Elías Fernández Guzmán , (born January 25, 1989 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.81-meter-tall defensive player Fernández was in the squad of the Montevideo-based first division team Racing in the 2011/12, 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons . During this period he made 74 appearances in the Primera División . He scored four goals (2011/12: 26 games / 3 goals; 2012/13: 28/1; 2013/14: 20/0). In July 2014 he moved to Deportes Concepción in Chile . With the Chileans he was used 54 times (three goals) in the Chilean Primera B and six times (no goal) in the Copa Chile . In early July 2016 he joined Coquimbo Unido . So far (as of March 2, 2017) he met there twice in 17 appearances in the Primera B.
