Manuel Gervink

Manuel Gervink (born May 29, 1957 in Münster ) is a German musicologist and university lecturer.

Life

In 1976 he graduated from high school. From 1976 to 1984 Gervink studied musicology, German and philosophy at the University of Münster , where he received his doctorate in 1984. From 1984 he worked for ten years as a research assistant at the Musicological Institute of the University of Cologne . Here he also received his habilitation in 1994. 1995–1999 he was the professor for musicology at the Cologne University of Music. He was appointed adjunct professor at the University of Cologne in 2000.

In 2002 Gervink was appointed to the professorship for musicology at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden as head of the Institute for Musicology. His main focus is the field of new music .
