Manuel Lopez (actor)

Manuel Lopez , also Frederik Manuel Laube , (born September 11th before 1996 in Guatemala City ) is a German music theater actor.

Life

Lopez was adopted by a German family when he was barely a year old. He grew up in Bad Vilbel . From the age of seven he attended the Bad Vilbel music school, where, in addition to classical choral singing, he learned various instruments such as cello, recorder, drums, piano and guitar.

In 2003 the Vil-Bel-Canto Choir gave him the opportunity to participate as a choir member at the Open Air Burgfestspiele Bad Vilbel 2003/04 in the musical Evita . In the same year he began taking individual singing lessons in musicals. In addition, he took dance lessons and also worked as a trainer. After graduating from high school (main subject choir) in Michigan (USA) he played the role of the disciple Johannes in the musical JesusChristSuperstar at the Open Air Burgfestspiele Bad Vilbel in 2007 . The following year he was in the ensemble at Jekyll & Hyde .

He then completed a three-year training course as a professional music theater actor at the Hamburg School of Entertainment (HSE), which he successfully completed in July 2012. In addition to school projects such as Campiello , Der Bürger als Edelmann , Take of with us , Rhythm of Life and the HSE Vocal Ensemble, he gained further experience as a soloist and choreographer at the world premiere of the city opera Morgen was never before , in cooperation with the state youth music school Hamburg.

The Schmidt Theater hired him during his training . In his first permanent engagement he was a soloist in the 1970s hit revue Karamba and Schlagerause , which performed in Mühlheim, Hesse. Before that he represented the Hamburg School of Entertainment at the private school presentation of the ZAV (Central Agency for Employment Placement - Artist Placement). In April 2013 he got his first leading role in the world premiere of the family musical by YAKARI - Friends for Life , where he played the role of the Indian boy Yakari and toured various cities in Germany with the musical. On the occasion of the Schmidt Theater's 25th birthday in the summer of 2013, he could be seen as a vocal soloist in various roles in the Schmidt Parade .

From February to April 2014 he was a soloist in the Musical Dinner Show . At the beginning of March 2014 he played the role of the disciple Simon in the musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber " Jesus Christ Superstar . In summer 2014 he played the role of the slave Mereb in AIDA - the musical by Elton John and Tim Rice on the Thun lake stage in the first cast. In the Dreamworks musical SHREK he was part of the musical as swing and cover Esel from October 2014 to March 2015. After the Dreamworks musical SHREK left Düsseldorf in January 2015, Manuel toured with the musical through Berlin, Munich, Zurich and Vienna At the summer festival of the Landestheater Dinkelsbühl he took on the role of the disciple Simon in the open air production of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR from June to August 2015. At the same time, Manuel was seen in his first play in the transvestite comedy Ganz Kerle! by Kerry Renard, where he also appeared on stage as a woman in the role of parcel delivery man Manuel Rodriguez and played as Che in the musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber Evita from December 2015 until January 2016 in the old theater in Stuttgart.

In the summer of 2016 Lopez returned to the stage of the small Dinkelsbühler Landestheater, where he took on the role of hairdresser VIC Schön in the German premiere of Andy Hallwaxx "HERE WE ARE! The Andrew Sisters". From the beginning of June to August 2016 he took part in the production of Peter Cahn in his second play. Directed by Urs Alexander Schleiff, you could see him in the musical Der kleine Horrorladen, where he lent his voice to the carnivorous monster plant Audrey Zwo. Together with his musical colleague Katharina Felling, he was also responsible for the choreography of the piece. As part of the summer festival, the musical was performed from mid-June to the end of July 2016 on the covered open-air stage on the battlements in Dinkelsbühl.
