Manuel Muerte

Manuel Muerte (* 11. March 1968 in Hamburg as Guido Schmalriede ) is a German magician, author and seminar leader.

Life

After graduating from high school, Manuel Muerte first studied applied cultural studies. During this time he met the developing group of “Ready Fingers” and was already playing the role of a bizarre magician: He “operated” out his eye, made it disappear and reappear.

In his productions, Manuel Muerte uses magic as a means to deal with the real things in life.

In 2003 he put together his first 2-hour program, "Metaphysical Cabinet". In it, he plays the role of a declining wizard of the late 1970s who is desperately trying to get close to Hollywood greats.

Since 2014 he has been producing magic programs on Kampnagel together with the Hamburg theater community , in which he deals with magical-mystical problems of everyday life. In his first production he dealt with the subject of the magic of sexuality. In 2015 and 2016 he addressed the subject of death and life after in his programs. First with the program Der schwebende Diwan and then the Talking Dead talk show with the dead , which he also played on Kampnagel. A year later he produced the program Das Oracle von Delphi with the support of the Hamburg cultural authority

In the 1990s he appeared together with colleagues Bernhard Wolff and Detlef Simon (Desimo) as the group Die Plebsbüttel , which won first prize at the 1994 World Magic Art Congress.
