Manufacturer Supplier Relationship

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Manufacturer Supplier Relationship ( MSR , German manufacturer-supplier relationship ) was a joint project of several companies in the German automotive industry and their suppliers to improve cooperation in the development of electronic systems for use in automobiles. The aim in 1990 was to describe methodical working methods and to implement a structured, tool-supported interface between the development partners. The focus here was on the systematic documentation of the electronic components of the vehicle. Under the project, several were tools - prototypes developed in pilot projects verified.

Standards based on SGML and later XML were defined for the description of automotive electronics and used for the exchange of documents. Those standards that have proven themselves in everyday life were transferred to ASAM eV in 2001 .
