María del Pilar Ayuso González

María del Pilar Ayuso González (born June 16, 1942 in Badajoz ) is a Spanish politician of the Partido Popular .

Ayuso obtained the title of agricultural engineer and a diploma in European Communities at a diplomatic school. She worked for around three decades as a researcher and research director at the National Institute for Agricultural Research. At the project appraisal she headed the office of the National Commission for Agricultural Studies. From 1991 to 1999 she was a member of the Parliament of the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha . During this time she was also a consultant for agriculture and the environment of the PP parliamentary groups in the Congreso de los Diputados and in the Senate as well as general director of the nutrition department in the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. She has been a member of the European Parliament since 1999 .
