Maranga Island is an island in the Wilhelm Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is the westernmost of the group of Anagram Islands and lies on the south side of the French Passage .

The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1961 after an anagram from "Anagram".
