Marc Groenhuijsen

Marcus Silvester "Marc" Groenhuijsen (* 1956 ) is a Dutch law scholar and professor at Tilburg University .

After quite a scientific study and an assistant Groenhuijsen 1985, with the criminal font Schadevergoeding voor slachtoffers van het DELICTEN in strafgeding from the Leiden University Dr. iur. PhD. He then worked as an associate professor for criminal law and criminal procedure law at the University of Leiden. In 1987 Groenhuijsen moved to the University of Tilburg , where he has since held the full professorship for criminal law and criminal procedure law and at the same time heads the department for criminal law. Since 2005 his chair has been called "Chair for Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law and Victimology". From 1992 to 1995 Groenhuijsen was dean of the Tilburg Faculty of Law and from 1997 1998 dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. He was also a part-time judge at the District Court of Rotterdam from 1986 to 2016 and has been a judge at the Arnhem Court of Appeals since 1992. Since 2005 he has been a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences .

Groenhuijsen's research focuses primarily on criminal law doctrine, especially in the area of ​​the perpetrator-victim relationship, euthanasia and comparative criminal law, as well as international criminal law.
