Tamara Vladimirovna Kovalevskaya

Tamara Vladimirovna Kowalewskaja ( Russian Тамара Владимировна Ковалевская ; born July 4, 1923 in Jelisavetgrad ; † February 7, 1986 in Petrozavodsk ) was a Soviet architect and university teacher .

Life

After studying at the Moscow Architecture Institute (MArchI), Kovalevskaya was sent to work in Krasnoyarsk in 1947 .

1952–1954 studied Kovalevskaya at the faculty for further education of the MArchI. She was then sent to Petrozavodsk to work in the Karelproject Design Institute (until 1981). In 1953 she became a member of the Union of Architects of the USSR . She also taught architecture at the Petrozavodsk Building Technology Center and at the University of Petrozavodsk in the Faculty of Industrial and Civil Engineering. She created significant individual projects for the construction of buildings and facilities in the modern style in Petrozavodsk and the Rajons of the Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (ASSR) .

Kovalevskaya was elected chairman of the board of directors of the Union of Architects of the Karelian ASSR and was a member of the board of directors of the Union of Architects of the USSR.
