Marcel Gerhard

Marcel Gerhard (born August 25, 1955 in Frauenfeld ) is a Swiss motorcycle track racer and former long-course world champion .

In the 1970s, Gerhard began his career in motocross before he drove the first grass track and sand track races in Germany in 1979 and also moved to Germany. In 1980 he won the German long-track junior championship with a German license. From the 1981 season, Gerhard started internationally and qualified for the first time in 1982 and to this day as the first Swiss ever for a long-track World Cup final in Korskro / DK. In 1986 he won the first world championship medal in long-course sport for Switzerland with a 3rd place at the long-course world championship final in Pfarrkirchen / D, on the sand track, where he won the long-course world championship title in September 1992. After the 1996 season, Marcel Gerhard ended his racing career and devoted himself to engine tuning, in which he also provided top international racing drivers with machine material.
