Marcela Serrano

Marcela Serrano Perez (* 1951 in Santiago de Chile ) is a Chilean writer .

Her first novella Nosotras que nos queremos tanto was published in 1994 . For this work she was awarded the literature prize in Santiago. Her second book Para que no me olvides won the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Prize for women authors in the Spanish language.

Carlos Fuentes described her portrayal of the modern woman as "having the capacity to change skin like a snake, freeing herself from the inevitability and servitude of more obsolete times".
