Marcelle Aaron

Marcelle Marguerite Aaron (born September 6, 1894 in Paris ; † February 7, 1956 there ) was a French composer and pianist. She published the joint compositions with her sister Yvonne Aaron under M et Y Aaron.

Life

Marcelle Marguerite Aaron's father was Ismael Aaron (* August 22, 1864; † 1919), her mother Jeanne Goetschel (* 1871; † February 25, 1919). Both married on August 24, 1893 in Saint-Die-des-Vosges. Yvonne Aaron was Marguerite's sister. Marcelle was admitted to the Paris Conservatory of Music on November 26, 1913. In 1919 she received a second prize in harmony teaching in the women's class at the conservatory. From the 1920s she and her sister published Hebrew chants with organ or piano accompaniment. They wrote works for orchestras, the performances of which were performed in the major Parisian concert series and also broadcast on the radio, such as the orchestral version of Écoute Israël at the Concerts Pasdeloupon April 2, 1932 under Rhené-Baton .
