Marcia (Caesar's grandmother)

Marcia came from the ancient Roman family of Marcii Reges and was the paternal grandmother of Gaius Iulius Caesar , since he was 68 BC. In his funeral address to his aunt Iulia, he mentioned that the mother of the deceased belonged to the Marcii Reges family. According to an assumption by the ancient historian Friedrich Münzer , Marcia could be a sister or daughter of the town praetor from 144 BC. BC, Quintus Marcius Rex .
