Marco Arment

Marco Arment (born June 11, 1982 ) is an American iOS developer and web designer as well as a magazine author and editor. He lives in Westchester, New York , is the founder of Instapaper and co-founder of Tumblr .

Career

Arment attended Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania . Since it was founded in February 2007, he has been the chief developer of the Tumblr blogging platform . In September 2010 he left Tumblr to focus entirely on Instapaper, a bookmarking and reading service. Arment announced on April 25, 2013 that it had sold Instapaper to Betaworks.

Between November 2010 and December 2012 Arment produced the “Build and Analyze” podcast together with Dan Benjamin on the 5by5 Studios network.

In October 2012 Arment published The Magazine , which is an approximately weekly magazine developed exclusively for iOS.

In January 2013, his blog, which started in December 2006, reached 600,000 page views per month.
