Marco Buti
Marco Buti (born April 4, 1957 in Pontassieve ) is an Italian EU official. Since 2008 he has been Director General of the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Union.
Marco Buti studied economics at Oxford University and graduated there and at the University of Florence.
He joined the European Commission in 1987. After working in various positions, he became Deputy Director General of the Directorate General for Economy and Finance in 2006 and took over the management of the authority in December 2008.
