Marco Marzi

Marco Marzi (born November 15, 1977 ) is a German basketball official .

Life

In May 2011, Marzi was elected chairman of Trimmelter SV (which he joined in 1992 and in which he then became involved as a basketball player, coach and referee), previously he was already vice chairman. In June 2012 he also took over the office of President of the Rhineland-Palatinate Basketball Association (BVRP), after having sat in the association's legal and IT committees and was vice-president responsible for game operations from 2008 to 2012. As a referee, he made the leap into the B-team of the German Basketball Association , and from 2000 Marzi also worked as a referee trainer at the BVRP. He was a member of the Sports Youth Committee of the Rhineland Sports Youth.

In 2016, Marzi moved into the Trier City Council for the SPD , and in April 2017 he also assumed the office of Chairman of the Trier City Sports Association. At the Bundestag of the German Basketball Federation in June 2018 he was elected to the DBB board as Vice President for Sports Organization and Referee. In October 2019, Marzi resigned from his position as DBB Vice President for professional reasons.
