Marcus Acilius Caninus , or Manius Acilius Caninus and Marcus Acilius Canianus , a scion of the gens Acilia , was 48 BC. BC Legate of Caesar in the civil war . Caesar showed himself to be grateful by calling Caninus after his praetur in the year 47 BC. In the years 46 and 45 BC Appointed proconsul of Sicily . In the course of preparing a campaign against the Parthians , Caninus was sent by Caesar with an army to Macedonia , where he stayed after his assassination. His future fate is uncertain.
