Marcus Blossius Vestalis

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Marcus Blossius Vestalis was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 2nd century AD .

Vestalis came from Capua . Two military diplomas prove that from January 20, 151 to March 5, 153 AD, he was in command of the Cohors III Brittonum , which at that time was stationed in the province of Moesia superior . His service with the unit may have started earlier; presumably he had been in command since at least the fall of 150, since a change of command in winter is unlikely.
