Marcus "Pepe" Petsch (born June 8, 1966 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Marcus Petsch gained his first experience in the men's area with the second team from Union Berlin. In 1986 he moved to BSG Motor Babelsberg in the GDR league , where he made regular assignments. In 1989/90 he was active at BSG KWO Berlin and 1990/91 at SG Bergmann-Borsig , each in the NOFV league (name of the GDR league from 1989). After the dissolution of the GDR league structure, he initially stayed with Bergmann-Borsig and played with the club in the NOFV-Oberliga until 1993. This was followed by a move to BSV Brandenburg, with whom he qualified in 1994 for the newly founded third-class regional league. In 1995 he moved to the successor club of BSG Motor Babelsberg - SV Babelsberg 03 .

With the Babelsbergers, he first experienced a march through from the association league via the upper league to the regional league. In 2001 he even rose to the 2nd Bundesliga with his club. There, however, he was unable to play a single game due to a ruptured Achilles tendon at the end of the previous season. After being relegated straight away, he played four more times in the regional league for the club and ended his career in 2003. In June 2003 he jumped in for a game as a coach at Babelsberg.

After the end of his career, he remained loyal to the club and continues to work as a supervisor or team leader.
