Marcus Sedatius Severianus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Marcus Sedatius Severianus was a Roman politician living in the 2nd century AD . His full name is Marcus Sedatius Severianus Iulius Acer Metilius Nepos Rufinus Tiberius Rutilianus Censor .

A military diploma dated September 5, 152, shows that Severianus was governor of the province of Dacia superior in 152 ; he presumably held this office from 151 to 153. An inscription dated July 1, 153, and the Fasti Ostienses , prove that he was 153 together with Publius Septimius Aper suffect consul ; the two took office on July 1 of that year. Another inscription shows that envoys from Dacia superior traveled to Rome to honor their former governor.
