Marcus Ulpius Dignus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Marcus Ulpius Dignus was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 2nd century AD .

A military diploma dated September 28, 157, shows that Dignus 157 was the commander of the Ala II Flavia milliaria pia fidelis , which at that time was stationed in the province of Raetia ; the leadership of this unit is likely to have been his fourth military command ( Militia quarta ).

Dignus came from Cibalae , today's Vinkovci . Judging by his name, his family had received Roman citizenship through Trajan .
