The Mare Ingenii ( Latin for "sea of talent") is a mare on the far side of the moon .
It is located opposite the Mare Imbrium in the southern hemisphere in the so-called Ingenii Basin at the selenographic coordinates 33 ° S, 165 ° E. The Mare Ingenii has a mean diameter of 280 km and is, like all other Maria on the back of the moon, relatively small.
Light swirls stand out on its dark basalt . The region in which the Mare Ingenii is located has the strongest local crustal magnetic field of the moon.
