Mlinci

Mlinci is the name of a side dish that is particularly widespread in the area around Zagreb , Slavonia ( Croatia ) and Slovenia .

A dough similar to a pasta dough is prepared from flour, salt and water , which is rolled out thinly and then baked on both sides on the stove or in the oven. Then the hard plates are broken into pieces or divided into stains, briefly scalded in boiling water (max. 1 minute until they have become a bit soft) and then left to steep in the gravy (typically turkey, i.e. purica sa mlincima), see above so that they soak up the gravy and become very soft.

Mlinci are traditionally served on festive days with meat dishes, typically roasted turkey.
