The Mare Marginis ( lat. "Randmeer") is a Mare of the Earth's moon .

The name of the Mare Marginis refers to its location east of the Mare Crisium on the far eastern edge of the full moon disk. This corresponds to the selenographic coordinates 12 ° N, 87 ° E. The Mare Marginis has a mean diameter of 360 km. Its largest crater, Al-Biruni, is in the north. The Mare is characterized by swirls and a relatively strong local crustal magnetic field and is the antipode of the Mare Orientale .
