Mare Radio is a radio program from Radio Bremen , which has been broadcast regularly on Bremen Zwei (formerly Nordwestradio) since 2004 . The program deals with scientific and cultural topics related to the world's oceans with changing main themes. "The culture-forming nature of the sea" should be shown on the radio.

Content

Each program has its own main topic, the various aspects of which are to be represented in the form of reports, longer interviews and contributions. The first Mare broadcast in 2004 was titled "Islands". a. "Schall und Rauch", "Grün", "Durchblick" and "Glubsch und Glibber". Each issue includes a cooking column by the dramaturge Hans Helge Ott alias "Captain Cook" as well as the Mare riddle. You can win an annual subscription to the magazine mare by the publisher of the same name, with which the editorial team of the show cooperates.

The program is always broadcast on the first Sunday of each month between noon and 2 p.m. News are broadcast on the hour, and weather and traffic services are also part of the broadcast, which is moderated live, every half hour. The moderators are alternately Katrin Krämer, Stefanie Pesch and Nikolas Golsch. Former moderators are Silke Behl and Stefan Pulß. Mare Radio is usually repeated on the second Saturday of each month from 6 p.m. on Bremen Zwei and is also available as a podcast on the broadcaster's website and in the ARD audio library after the broadcast .

On August 2, 2020, the program was broadcast for the 200th time and honored this with an anniversary program entitled "200 - the best than 199 programs". In it, presenter Katrin Krämer presented a best of the reports from the archive from the past 16 years.
